Doug will be based out of Wichita, Kansas, and will focus his efforts on developing new business relationships in the Aerospace market.  A Wichita native and Friends University graduate, Doug has an extensive background spanning more than 30 years in Manufacturing, Engineering, Supply Chain, and Senior Management positions.

Following his military service with the Air Force, Doug held increasingly responsible positions with Boeing and Spirit AeroSystems for more than 25 years.  Most recently he was the General Manager of Swift-Cor Aerospace and, through the transition period following the company sale, General Manager of Impresa Aerospace.

Burtek Enterprises Inc. Receives Raytheon Supplier Excellence Award 

CHESTERFIELD, MI – 31 May 2012 – Burtek Enterprises Inc., a full service design, engineering, manufacturing and systems integration company, was awarded the prestigious Four Star Supplier Excellence Award by Raytheon Integrated Defense Systems.  Raytheon distinguishes its suppliers based on three important factors: on-time delivery, sustained performance on quality and the commitment to operational excellence through the utilization of Lean/6-Sigma practices.  This is the third consecutive year Burtek has been recognized by Raytheon, placing Burtek in the top 1% and the only cross-commodity integrator to be recognized three consecutive years.

Burtek has been a proud supply chain partner with Raytheon, by engineering and delivering vital systems to our war fighters since 2003.  Burtek’s role in the AN/TPY-2 program developed when Raytheon needed a partner to fabricate, assemble and integrate the Cooling Equipment Unit (CEU) for the radar system, it looked for a supplier with talent, skills and expertise they could rely on.  Raytheon chose Burtek, a partner capable of world-class engineering, manufacturing and quality.

Wynnchurch Capital, Ltd. (“Wynnchurch”), a leading middle-market private equity firm announced today that its newly formed portfolio company, Burtek Enterprises, Inc. (“Burtek,” or the “Company”), has acquired substantially all of the assets of Burtek, Inc. in partnership with Stone River Capital Partners and management. Based in Chesterfield, MI, Burtek is a leading North American designer, manufacturer, tester and integrator of systems for military vehicles, radar installations and other defense systems. Prior to the acquisition by Wynnchurch, Burtek was a wholly-owned subsidiary of Guardlink, Inc., and was placed in receivership on October 11, 2011. The sale was approved on Tuesday, January, 31, 2012 by a U.S. Federal Court and closed on Thursday, February 2, 2012.
